Heaptalk, Jakarta — PT SRC Indonesia Sembilan (SRCIS) has entered a partnership with Perum Bulog, a state-owned enterprise managing strategic food supplies, to expand the Rumah Pangan Kita (RPK), translated as our food house, network through grocery stores in the Sampoerna Retail Community (SRC) network.
This collaboration will also increase the visibility of Bulog’s products in SRC stores. Representatives of both parties signed the agreement at Bulog’s Central Java Regional Office, Semarang (01/07). The network expansion will begin in Central Java, followed by other regions. The Rumah Pangan Kita program aims to provide basic food needs, including rice and cooking oil, to reach the public at affordable prices.
“Bulog is collaborating with SRCIS to support the development of the RPK business and SRC stores by enabling these grocery stores to become RPK outlets,” said Febby Novita, Business Director of Perum Bulog, as quoted by Kontan on January 9th.
Expanding food commodity distribution
Currently, Bulog manages 21,000 RPK outlets spread throughout neighborhood units across Indonesia. The cooperation with SRCIS is expected to expand Bulog’s food commodity distribution network through Sampoerna Retail Community member grocery stores and scale up the RPK business.
Romulus Sutanto, Director of SRCIS, stated that this collaboration aligns with SRCIS’s vision to promote people’s economic growth in Indonesia by strengthening the role of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), particularly grocery stores.
“The RPK program and the visibility of Bulog products will further support SRC stores’ contributions to the community. We hope this partnership will facilitate the public to access basic foodstuffs,” Romulus said.
Additionally, Perum Bulog’s collaboration with SRCIS is in line with the government’s program to achieve national food security. In conclusion, Romulus said this synergy would further establish SRC as a key pillar of Indonesia’s economy.
