Heaptalk, Jakarta — In collaboration with the film Petualangan Sherina 2, Oreo presents Oreo Wafer Adventure to target the family market segment in Indonesia.
The musical adventure film, which was released on September 28, 2023, is a sequel to the first film which aired in 2000. This film raises the theme of family and childhood friendship between Sherina and Sadam, who have not seen each other for a long time and then have fun together.
Senior Marketing Manager at Mondelez Indonesia Dian Ramadianti said that Oreo’s keyword is excitement. This step follows the success of the collaboration with the well-known girl band from South Korea, Blackpink, earlier this year.
“At the beginning of the year, we collaborated with Blackpink, that was one thing. We live here in an interconnected world. Between us as brands and consumers, we often read comments on social media. We were happy having Blackpink in the first quarter,” said Dian in Jakarta (10/03).
Tapping into the adventure carried by Petualangan Sherina 2, Oreo Wafer provides the opportunity to win multiple attractive prizes, including iPhone 14, Nintendo Switch, exclusive Oreo Wafer x Sherina’s Adventure 2 merchandise, and Meet & Greet tickets with Sherina and Sadam (Derby Romero). Consumers only need to send an image of any Oreo Wafer variant to the contact provided or scan the QR code on the packaging to be exchanged for a lottery number during the period September 1 to October 31, 2023.
Another collaboration later this year
The main character of the film Adventure Sherina 2, Sherina Munaf, admits that having an exciting adventure together is the right step to building closeness. She said, “Through moments of excitement and adventure stories together, Sherina and Sadam were finally able to build closeness again. The excitement of going on an adventure again is the same as the spirit of Oreo Wafer which always creates excitement and adventure that can bring us closer together, even when we haven’t seen each other for a long time.”
Aligned with Sherina, the actor who plays Sadam in Petualangan Sherina 2 Derby Romero said that this film evoked a nostalgic side in him for going on exciting adventures with Sherina since the release of the first film. “This nostalgic side can also be felt by our viewers who currently may also be married and have children to take the positive side of the importance of having exciting adventures together in whatever form it takes, in line with the spirit of Oreo Wafer,” explained Derby.
Further, the product under Mondelez Indonesia is preparing another collaboration later this year. “We also saw comments when we collaborated with a well-known brand, including in Indonesia Petualangan Sherina. There will be another one later in the year, one coming from Oreo. We don’t limit ourselves to certain films, music, or genres, but the common thread is that Oreos are always exciting with the family.
