Heaptalk, Jakarta — Hypermart’s holding company PT Matahari Putra Prima (MPPA) established a strategic partnership with United Bike and United E-Motor manufacturer PT Terang Dunia Internusa (TDI) to distribute United’s two-wheeled EV products at Hypermart outlets.
This collaboration was marked by the signing of an MoU and the symbolic handover of 100 electric motorbikes in Tangerang, Banten (10/24). This step is a form of support for the pollution prevention campaign which is in line with the green living mission promoted by both companies.
MPPA and TDI initiative demonstrates the debut of electric motorbikes in modern market outlets. There are four types of electric motorbikes that will be distributed to Hypermart outlets, namely MX1200, T1800, TX1800, and TX 3000. Additionally, both parties have prepared exclusive offers to facilitate their employees in purchasing these electric motorbikes.
Director of TDI Henry Mulyadi welcomed this collaboration to encourage the creation of a balanced and sustainable ecosystem. Henry conveyed that this initiative is a concrete form of TDI’s vision through the United Bike and United E-Motor brands, which is to provide environmentally friendly, efficient, and affordable electric and pedal two-wheeled vehicles to the world.
“The public can easily purchase these two-wheeled electric vehicle products through the Hypermart stores spread throughout Indonesia. That way, more Indonesians can take part in supporting air pollution mitigation by switching to electric vehicles,” stated Henry as quoted from the official release (10/24).
Providing charging station facilities
Apart from product distribution, this collaboration will include several activities related to supporting the EV ecosystem, one of which is by providing charging station facilities at several Hypermart outlets in stand-alone locations. These facilities are expected to provide privileges and convenience for Hypermart customers in charging batteries to electric motorbikes during their visit.
Meanwhile, Deputy CEO of MPPA Jerry Goei revealed that this collaboration is aligned with the MPPA’s support for the healthy lifestyle of its stakeholders through multiple products and activities.
“We welcomed the partnership with United, which has become top of mind in the bicycle market and is now also expanding into the electric bicycle and electric motorcycle market. Through this collaboration, Hypermart can provide support to the government’s steps in reducing carbon gas emissions due to the use of fossil fuel motorized vehicles by presenting these products in our stores located from west to east Indonesia,” Jerry concluded.
