Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) Erick Thohir appreciated the organizing of the 2024 IIMS and the effort of state-owned electricity company PLN to drive the growth of the green vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia.
“This event also supports Indonesia’s government measure to promote the development of EVs ecosystem for the last three years, from mainstream to downstream massively,” stated Erick Tohir during his visit to IIMS 2024.
He explained that the archipelago needs to accelerate the development of this industry, therefore the SOE focus to building the EVs industry, from its vehicles, batteries, and more. This strategy is implemented to reduce air pollution, a problem that is still shadowing the country.
During his visit, Erick Thohir also appreciates PLN’s commitment to supporting the Government’s policy to minimize carbon emissions by presenting green energy in Indonesia.
The President Director of PLN, Darmawan Prasodjo, uttered that PLN fully supported the government’s effort by considering the positive impact of this new industry on the nation.
“The Government’s support is huge towards this industry; thus, in the future, it will enhance national capacity, create jobs for people, and deliver wealth to society while decreasing carbon emission,” stated Darmawan.
He continued that PLN has provided end-to-end EV ecosystem services by adding the EV Digital Services (EVDS) feature in the PLN Mobile app. This feature displays information about charging station location, battery charging transaction, power consumption, and the submission of home charging services. EVDS also has a test drive feature that connects distributors and society interested in driving EVs.
Regarding the EV infrastructure, PLN managed to build 1,124 public EV charging stations (SPKLU) and 1,839 public electric vehicle battery exchange stations (SPBKLU) across Indonesia. This number is claimed to grow in the near future.
“We build charging station facilities together at every point. We invite various parties to build SPKLU and SPBKLU in offices, malls, rest areas, and other crowded places.
PLN also managed to produce green hydrogen from 21 Green Hydrogen Plants. According to the company, green hydrogen will be utilized as EV fuel. To materialize this goal, the state-owned electricity company plans to launch the first Hydrogen Refueling Station (HRS) in Indonesia, which is located at Senayan, Jakarta.
