Heaptalk, Jakarta — EF Adults, part of EF Education First, has rebranded itself to EF Efekta English for Adults. This measure introduces a hybrid offline and online learning method for adults and professionals.

Eliminating center-centric, this Zurich-based learning platform offers courses that can be accessed 24 hours a day from anywhere. More than 10,000 active students (business to consumer/B2C) are independently enrolling to improve their English skills on the platform. With the rebranding, EF Efekta aims to grow its student base by up to 35% by the end of 2024.

By the end of 2023, 70% of EF Efekta English for Adults students were from Java Island. Since June 2024, the distribution of students has become more balanced, with 50% from Java Island and 50% from outside Java. This indicates growing demand outside Java Island, including in cities other than Jakarta and Surabaya.

Partnering with over 250 companies

“With these changes, online learning has become an integral part of a new era of education that cannot be ignored. Therefore, EF English Centers for Adults announced the rebranding to EF Efekta English for Adults. This new name is believed to represent better the new face of EF Efekta English for Adults, which is now available throughout Indonesia and can be enjoyed by every student with the same quality, without exception,” stated Johan Wilhelmsson, President of EF Efekta English for Adults.

Stefany Yacop, Marketing Director of EF Efekta English for Adults Indonesia, revealed that the organization has been a regular corporate training partner for more than 250 companies, including multinational companies in various sectors, such as mining, logistics, banking, and hospitality.

This platform’s hybrid corporate training program allows employee students to access learning materials anytime, 24 hours a day, from anywhere. The materials are tailored to each individual’s level, making gathering all employee students in the same class unnecessary.

Increasing awareness of the need for learning

“We are committed to providing equal service to every student by eliminating access and time barriers. Every student can learn directly with international teachers from around the world. Unlike other institutions that offer fixed schedules and recorded classes, EF Efekta English for Adults provides flexible and live 24-hour classes with certified teachers,” said Stefany.

Furthermore, Fanno Hendriawan, Operations Director of EF Efekta English for Adults Indonesia, explained that the corporate training program includes business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-government (B2G) sectors, reaching private companies, ministries, and state-owned enterprises (SOEs). To date, the learning platform has collaborated with various ministries, such as the Ministry of Education and Culture since 2017, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo), the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Transportation, the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime and Investment Affairs, as well as SOEs such as BNI and BRI.

In addition, Wulan Ranny, Human Capital Strategic Consultant and Advisor, observed that awareness of the need for learning has significantly increased, both from an individual and corporate development perspective. “From a human resources perspective, EF Efekta English for Adults significantly contributes to human resource development by offering flexible learning, which is crucial given the mobility challenges in big cities. Learning English flexibly, anytime and anywhere, certainly adds significant value,” Ranny concluded.
