Heaptalk, Jakarta — Dyandra obtained revenue of Rp383.4 billion, approximately US$23.9 million (US$1 equals Rp16,021), in the first quarter of 2024, an increase of 4% compared to the same period last year (YoY).
“The largest revenue contributor remains the event/exhibition organizer business, amounting to Rp315.7 billion (82%), followed by the convention and exhibition space business at Rp50.4 billion (8%), the hotel business at Rp11.9 billion (3%), and the event support business at Rp8.1 billion (2%). The Gross Profit Margin (GPM) saw an increase from 32%, or Rp117 billion, to 36%, or Rp138.3 billion. DYAN’s net profit in the first three months of this year was recorded at Rp37.7 billion,” explained Daswar Marpaung, President Director of Dyandra, at a press conference at Hotel Santika Premiere Slipi Jakarta on Tuesday (05/21).
Dyandra’s management is optimistic about the company’s improving performance and the increasingly promising prospects of the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) industry. The trend of the MICE industry in Asia continues to show an increase in MICE activities of up to 55%. Daswar explained, “The company’s solid fundamentals, good corporate governance, and DYAN’s positioning as an integrated MICE company in Indonesia are advantages for the company to compete in the MICE industry.”
On this occasion, Daswar added, “Several strategies implemented in 2024 in the event/exhibition organizer business include expanding events in Southeast Asia, developing the MICE market share, one of which is by establishing new companies in collaboration with local event organizers and organizing B2B events with new segments.”
The company is also investing in and expanding into the tourism leisure industry by developing three attractions and acting as the operator at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), namely Dunia Air Tawar & Dunia Serangga, Taman Burung, and the Komodo Museum and Reptile Park. They are also developing and creating Intellectual Property (IP) event, spanning IIMS, Projek-D, Deep Extreme Indonesia, Floriculture Indonesia International Expo (FLOII), among others.
Meanwhile, in the convention and exhibition hall business, the company actively participates in international MICE exhibitions to capture the global market, such as AIME Melbourne, IMEX Frankfurt, and Meeting Show Asia Singapore. Dyandra has become a member of international MICE associations such as ICCA, AIPC, and AVA.
The company also renovated the interior of the Ballroom and the exterior of the Dyandra Convention Center Surabaya, incorporating Javanese cultural art concepts and environmentally friendly venues to enhance competitive quality. “With the implementation of these strategies, management is optimistic about increasing the company’s revenue by up to 10% in 2024,” concluded Daswar.
