Heaptalk, Cikarang — PT ICI Paints Indonesia (AkzoNobel Decorative Paints Indonesia) continues to improve the competence of the national construction workforce. As a concrete action, the Dulux paint producer organized a certification program for painters and construction workers at the Dulux factory in Cikarang, West Java.
Initiating this program, ICI Paints Indonesia also collaborated with Tukang.com and the Ministry of Public Works through the Construction Service Center (BJKW) Regional III Jakarta to enhance the capability of the workers.
Country Commercial Head of PT ICI Paints Indonesia Yudhy Aryanto voiced, “AkzoNobel is committed to support Mitra Dulux (a program for empowering Dulux partner), namely construction workers, one of which is helping them to improve professionalism and competence. So, they can be professionals who have more value and high competition. So that, it will bring a positive impact on industrial progress construction in Indonesia.”
Niluh Putu Ayu Setiawati, Head of Marketing, PT ICI Paints, explained that this activity is part of the Dulux Mitra program to provide competency certification for workers that is valid nationally. This program also will produce more competent construction workers, and open wider job opportunities for participants.
Aligning with ICI Paints’s statement, the CEO of Tukang.com, Fajar Rizki, stated that this certification would empower construction workers to be highly competitive. The collaboration between Tukang.com, Dulux Paint, and the Ministry of Public Works is also perceived as a strong synergy between the private sector and government to answer the industry’s needs.
Samuel E.D.P. Tampubolon, Head of the Construction Service Center Region III Jakarta, expressed great appreciation. He added, “If many industry partners actively play a role in certifying construction workers, the construction industry in Indonesia will be more advanced and high-quality.”
