Heaptalk, Jakarta — Indonesia-based technology company DesktopIP, in collaboration with PT Maju Maritim Indonesia Shipyard, holds a digital transformation seminar, specifically in the maritime industry, on Tuesday at Ayam Bulungan Building, Jakarta (09/17).
Adopting theme ‘Digital Sovereignty Stack Shapes the Future of Indonesia’, the seminar discussed multiple critical issues related to digital adoption, cybersecurity issues, and implementation of digital sovereignty stack and digital twin framework in maritime sector in Indonesia.
Several prominent figures in technology and maritime industries were invited to share their experiences and insightful knowledge, including CEO of DesktopIP Phidi Soepangkat, Marine Infrastructure Specialist Achmad Zuhdi, and Cryptanalyst of State’s Cyber and Crypto (BSSN) Farosa.
Delivering opening remarks, COO of DesktopIP, Mochamad Hermi Ibrahim Putra stated, “This agenda is carried out from the collaboration of technology company specialized in cloud computing DesktopIP and Maju Maritim Indonesia. This event aims to assist Indonesia to attain its vision, namely to embody digitalization in the national maritime industry”.
Hermi conveyed that the Indonesian maritime industry has tremendous potential and plays a critical role in the archipelago as three-quarters of Indonesian territory is ocean. For this reason, DesktopIP contributes to the country by driving digitalization in the industry, assisting the maritime sector to be resilient and sovereign.
In his opening speech, Hermi explained, “Instead of a challenge about how advanced the adopted technology is, the industry is also confronted with the issue of the effectiveness and efficiency of the implemented technology”.
For this reason, through the seminar, desktopIP intends to ensure that the technology adopted by the industry players can present an inclusive digital transformation, enabling all levels of society to enjoy the benefit.
The Director of Maju Maritim Indonesia, Mochammad Abdurachman N (Dhany), during the agenda revealed the seminar is part of the inauguration of strategic cooperation between DesktopIP and Maju Maritim Indonesia, which is set to be organized later at Maju Maritim Indonesia’s Shipyard at Merak, Banten. The cooperation is expected to enhance the competitiveness and reputation of the Indonesian shipyard company while supporting the industry to embodying Indonesia 4.0.
“The adoption of DesktopIP’s technology will leverage our competitiveness to provide transparency. The measure will provide added value to our business as we are able to prevent maritime fraud”, added Dhany.
