Heaptalk, Jakarta — As an effort to improve the people’s economy in West Kutai Regency, Regent FX Yapan delivered a mandate to prioritize local MSMEs for the use of outlets or stands at the Dahau Sendawar Festival.

“This time, I am indeed limiting regional apparatus organizations (OPDs) to set up stands. I said that OPDs do not need to build stands and give the space to MSMEs. That way, they can participate in a short time such this event,” said Yapan after visiting the Dahau Festival stand at the Sendawar Cultural Park (10/23).

This order follows the President’s direction to prioritize the development of MSMEs apart from the regency also becoming a Nusantara Capital City (IKN) buffer area. Yapan appreciated the MSMEs who are enthusiastic about taking part in the exhibition, both in the Sendawar Cultural Park area as well as the culinary exhibition in the PKK West Kutai Office yard and the playground in the Sendawar Polytechnic yard.

“We can see that the enthusiasm of the people who come to see our MSME products and services at this exhibition is extraordinary. Hopefully, the circulation of money at this moment can be better as previously we could reach billions of rupiah,” said Yapan.

This MSME exhibition will take place during the Dahau Sendawar Festival from October 23 to November 5, 2023. On November 3, President Joko Widodo will visit the Dahau Festival to be welcomed by 25,000 West Kutai residents. At this festival, there will be a record-breaking for the largest number of people using woven rattan bags anjat and various entertainment including musical performances from Happy Asmara and Republik band.
