Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Ministry of Trade and Astra International launched the Astra Export Champion UMKM BISA Ekspor program at the Ministry of Trade office in Central Jakarta on Monday (05/19).
This initiative supports the ministry’s priority program to empower micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to become exporters under the UMKM Berani Inovasi, Siap Adaptasi (BISA) Ekspor scheme. MSMEs dare to innovate and are ready to adapt for export.
The Astra Export Champion UMKM BISA Ekspor program is designed to cultivate new export-oriented MSMEs through structured, measurable, and sustainable mentorship. This collaboration implements the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Directorate General of National Export Development of the Ministry of Trade and Astra International.
“The Astra Export Champion program, with the spirit of UMKM BISA Ekspor, is a tangible example of private-public sector collaboration in building MSMEs’ capacity to penetrate global markets. We hope this program inspires and motivates Indonesian MSMEs to level up,” said Budi Santoso.
Budi Santoso hoped that the Astra Export Champion UMKM BISA Ekspor program participants would gain insights into overcoming global trade challenges, deepen their understanding of export activities, enhance product competitiveness, and expand market access. The knowledge acquired can then be adapted to their respective businesses. He added, “Let us take advantage of this opportunity to strengthen synergy between the government, private sector, and society in creating an inclusive and sustainable export ecosystem.”
The program offers comprehensive coaching for export-oriented MSMEs, helping them improve their capabilities and readiness to export independently and compete globally. The mentorship, conducted through online and offline training, includes several stages: general classes, an incubation boot camp, and finalizing business plans with initial export execution. At the program’s conclusion, 20 top-performing MSMEs will be selected to participate in Trade Expo Indonesia 2025, held from October 15–19, 2025.
