Heaptalk, Jakarta — Indonesia’s Ministry of Trade, in collaboration with the Business and Export Development Organization (BEDO), launched the New Export Breakthrough (NEXT) program on Wednesday. (04/03)
NEXT is a coaching program to help business actors penetrate the export market. This program is a collaborative effort by the government and stakeholders to increase exports of plantation products. The program focuses on the export preparation phase, which includes, among other things, internal strengthening of small and medium enterprise (SME) organizations for export preparation, assistance in preparing export strategies and plans, and business practices and negotiations.
“Through this cooperation, we continue facilitating the entry of Indonesian plantation product business actors into the export market through intensive coaching. We hope that participants can gain insight into overcoming global trade challenges and their business plans can adapt to existing conditions,” said the Director General of the National Export Development (PEN) of the Trade Ministry, Didi Sumedi.
According to him, the NEXT program is designed as a pilot project for plantation companies. The program has been socialized since March 2024. It is marked by disseminating information to heads of service departments in the field of trade throughout Indonesia and associations in the plantation sector so that they can invite their trained actors to participate in this program. As a result, the Ministry of Trade and BEDO have listed potential NEXT participants, who will be reduced to 30 selected business actors.
Chairman of the BEDO Foundation, Jeff Kristianto, claimed that this cooperation will accelerate Indonesia’s export targets and ensure maximum achievement. Indonesian plantation products have enormous opportunities in the world market and must be maximized.
As is known, NEXT consists of a series of online and face-to-face export assistance activities for one year for 30 selected companies in the plantation sector. While participating in NEXT, selected companies will receive assistance from export practitioners, opportunities to participate in exhibitions at home and abroad, and access to the Ministry of Trade’s InaExport website.
Concurrently, these two entities also officially launched the NEXT program logo. The logo symbolizes the assembly of two entities: the business world, symbolized by the Earth, and the Ministry of Trade, symbolized by the Moon. The interaction between these two elements reflects a mutually supportive relationship. Overall, this visual form conveys a transparent global partnership and cooperation message.
“We expect that business people will always remember the branding and message of this program. We will always use this logo in the next NEXT program,” affirmed the Director of Primary Product Export Development at the Ministry of Trade, Miftah Farid.
