Heaptalk, Jakarta — Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) Abdullah Azwar Anas inspected the services at the Public Service Mall (MPP) in Maros Regency, South Sulawesi, on Monday (26/08). During his visit, Minister Anas emphasized the need for the Maros Regency Government to continue innovating and streamlining business processes to ensure public services exceed citizens’ expectations.
“After two years of serving the community, the Maros Public Service Mall should not be satisfied with its current achievements. We must continuously innovate and cut business processes to ensure that services run as expected by the public,” he stated.
Minister PANRB Abdullah Azwar Anas highlighted that implementing digital public services is the next step in innovation following the establishment of physical MPPs. President Joko Widodo has directed that public services be available online, transforming MPPs into Digital Public Service Malls (MPP Digital).
Through MPP Digital, citizens can access public services more easily without face-to-face interactions. “In the past, Public Service Malls required new buildings. Now, we are gradually moving towards Digital MPPs,” said Minister Anas.
Regarding business process simplification, the former Head of the Government Procurement Policy Agency (LKPP) cited the government’s success in streamlining the process for event permits. The simplification aims to attract more international tourists to Indonesia. Digitalization offers ease and certainty and reduces bureaucracy.
The Maros Public Service Mall was officially inaugurated on August 19, 2022, as the 61st MPP in Indonesia and the 5th in South Sulawesi. Located on Andi Pengeran Pettarani Street, the MPP is situated on former terminal land, resulting from collaboration between the Maros Regency Government and the Ministry of Transportation.
The Maros MPP provides 111 types of services from 28 government agencies and serves an average of 135 visitors daily.
“I sincerely hope that the services at the Maros MPP can be improved and combined with proactive outreach to ensure faster service. I hope the Maros MPP becomes a public service center loved by the people,” he concluded.
