Heaptalk, Jakarta — Minister for Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) Abdullah Azwar Anas said President Jokowi emphasized that integrating government digital services is necessary to improve community services.
“To implement the President mandate, Ministry of Home Affairs, BSSN, Ministry of Tech, and SOE Peruri, we have held meetings regarding the use of IKD within the Digital ID framework to support service integration,” explained Anas during the 2024 National Population and Civil Registration Coordination Meeting at the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The PANRB Ministry and related agencies have agreed to perfect the National Digital Identity framework and share details of each agency’s tasks. Also, Anas urged the Director General of the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) and the Head of the Dukcapil Department in all regions to activate IKD for ASN immediately, which is expected to be completed in May 2024.
The focus on IKD as the key to Single Sign On (SSO) has followed Law No. 1/2024 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions (ITE) and Law No.27/2022 concerning Personal Data Protection (PDP) to support the implementation of Law No.24/2013 concerning Population Administration.
“We expect to shorten the process. People no longer need to photocopy their IDs to access services. Through IKD, the security of public data will be more guaranteed.” Anas admitted.
Utilizing digital transformation strategies in an integrated and intensive manner can accelerate Indonesia’s move away from the Middle Income Trap. Moreover, Indonesia’s economy is projected to exceed about 5.7% annually for 2016 – 2045 while performing structural reformation, bonus demography utilization, technological advancement, and elevating the country’s economic competitiveness.
“Indonesia is forecasted to become a country with a high income in 2036 and the fifth largest GDP in 2045. The significant economic growth inclusively would increase middle-income classes to about 70% of Indonesia’s population by 2045,” Affirmed the former of LKPP Anas.
In response to this plan, the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Teguh Setyabudi, voiced that IKD must be developed continuously as a framework for the IKD 2045 vision. This vision is based on digital government, economy, and society. This digital ID must be set up to become a national and universal digital personal identity from the government for society within the country and abroad,”
Teguh denoted his readiness to accelerate the activation of IKD to support the implementation of SPBE. “The board of the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration from central to district/city are ready to support the implementation of SPBE, particularly digital ID, aligned with PANRB Ministry’s mandate,”
For additional information, this national meeting in Batam carried out “The Role of IKD to Support the Acceleration of Digital Transformation in Digital Services” as the theme. Around 1,000 guests attended the agenda, and several were government officials, including the governor, regent, and mayor of the Riau Islands.
