MSME bazaar at Sekerat Beach was organized by the Cooperatives and SMEs Department in collaboration with Genpro. It recorded a total transaction of US$2,835.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — The MSME promotion bazaar was held at the fourth place, namely Sekerat Beach, Bengalon Subdistrict, East Kutai Regency. During the six days, the bazaar recorded a total transaction of Rp41.7 million or US$2,835 (US$1 worth Rp14,708).
The chairman of the bazaar committee who is also a representative of Global Entrepreneur Professional (Genpro), Leon, said that his party had coordinated with the Tanjung Kerang Group in Sekerat Village to take part in the curation training. The curation aims to select MSME products before export.
“The information I got, it turns out that their products have been exported as they were purchased by several company management here and brought to China. That means these products have demand. We only need to package this later to become an export commodity, not only for sale in Sekerat but also abroad,” said Leon.
He expects that promotional activities will not stop at this bazaar but that MSME actors can continue to increase and stretch to improve the people’s economy. According to Leon, Sekerat Village has a high potential for people’s economy since it has one of the tourist objects in East Kutai.
In the closing ceremony of the bazaar, Regent Ardiansyah Sulaiman said that the activity aimed to provide knowledge to the community through community-based businesses, such as MSME players, home industries, or other community-based business actors.
Ardiansyah said, “This applies to all MSMEs who want to take part in this mobile bazaar. Therefore, we see how important it is for us to do this. This activity is in the context of developing MSME products.”
This promotional bazaar was organized by the East Kutai Cooperatives and SMEs Department in collaboration with Genpro. “The main goal is that Genpro wants to provide assistance to business actors so that this year they interact and next year they can grow well from the assistance they provide. Thank God, until now, the information I got is about 30 MSMEs that are ready to be curated. They will be given training later and will be included in three national events,” concluded Ardiansyah.
