Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) in collaboration with the Scouts renovated 15 houses to make them habitable in Karadenan Village, Cibinong District, Bogor Regency through the Self-Help Housing Stimulant Assistance Program known as BSPS.

Head of the Java II Housing Provision Implementation Center, Kiagoos Egie Ismail, said that the construction of these houses is a result of collaboration between several sectors. He mentioned those partners, “The Scouts, paint company PT Propan Raya ICC, and cement company PT Indocement Tunggal Perkasa.” The scouts took part in the XII National Raimuna (Rainas) 2023 some time ago.

BSPS Program is carried out in a number of districts in Bogor Regency, spanning Babakan Madang, Cisarua, Jonggol, Klapanunggal, Nanggung, Pamijahan, Tanjungsari, Cibinong, Cigombong, and Ciomas. The next stage is Cibinong, Bojonggede, Ciampea, Ciawi, Cijeruk, Megamendung, Sukaraja, Tamansari and Sukamakmur.

“The number of houses being renovated in the district through the BSPS Program is 643 units and is expected to be completed by the end of this year,” Kiagoos added.

Completely unhabitable houses and owned by the poor

The fifteen houses in Cibinong selected for renovation were completely uninhabitable and owned by families in the poor category. One of the recipients of the BSPS Program assistance in Karadenan Village, Cibinong District, Bogor Regency, Ida Farida said that the BSPS Program turned her house which was previously unlivable to become more livable.

“I am very grateful for the Self-Help Housing Stimulant Assistance Program (BSPS) which is carried out in collaboration between the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) and the Scouts. “My grandchildren and I can now live in a more decent house as the roof is good and no longer leaks, the building foundation is strong, as well as the floors and walls are also plastered to make the house more comfortable,” said Ida (10/08).

Likewise, Agus, who works in a garment factory with a mediocre income, is grateful for the assistance. He used the financial assistance of Rp20 million to build a house. “This BSPS program is very good and hopefully it can be continued. My family and I would like to thank the Ministry of PUPR and the scouts who have helped us have a livable house,” said Agus.
