Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Class II Kendari Harbor and Port Authority Office (KSOP) held a Socialization on the Ban of Online Gambling and Drugs for its employees at the Class II KSOP Kendari Office on Monday (08/19).
Adopting the theme ‘Creating Transparent and Productive Individuals, Free from Online Gambling and Drugs,’ the event was attended by several key officials, including Capt. Raman, Head of the Class II Kendari Harbor and Port Authority Office; the Head of the Kendari City Transportation Department; representatives from BNN Kendari (the National Narcotics Agency); the Southeast Sulawesi Provincial Transportation Department; and Kendari Customs.
In his remarks, Capt. Raman stated that this activity was a follow-up to the Circular Letter from the Ministry of Transportation No. SE-MHB 3 of 2024 emphasizes the importance of preventing and combating online gambling and all forms of gambling within the Ministry of Transportation. He also explained another legal basis, the Minister of Transportation Regulation No. PM 17 of 2012 regulates operational procedures for preventing and eradicating the misuse and illicit trafficking of narcotics and psychotropics in the transportation sector.

Dr. M. Ridwan Badallah, Head of the Southeast Sulawesi Provincial Communication and Informatics Department, the main speaker, highlighted the growing concern over online gambling and drug abuse, particularly among the younger generation. According to him, these two issues not only harm physical and mental health but also threaten the social and educational future of the next generation.
With the increasing accessibility of the internet and digital technology, young people are now more vulnerable to falling into the trap of online gambling. At the same time, the widespread circulation of drugs makes it easier to access these dangerous substances. “We must work together to create a healthy work environment and community, free from the destructive threats of drugs and online gambling,” Ridwan emphasized.
This socialization event included multiple educational sessions, interactive discussions, and the dissemination of information through brochures and digital media. The goal was to provide participants with a deep understanding of the dangers posed by online gambling and drugs while also encouraging them to take preventive steps to create a safer and more productive environment.
With the implementation of this socialization, the Kendari Harbor and Port Authority Office hopes to raise public awareness about the negative impacts of online gambling and drugs and encourage the creation of a healthier, safer, and more productive community in the future.
