Heaptalk, Jakarta — The launch of Indonesia’s Government Technology (GovTech) called INA Digital brings fresh momentum to the nation’s ongoing digital transformation efforts. Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, expects INA Digital to be a game changer in the government’s digital transformation efforts, particularly in public services.
“I believe there are smart people everywhere. Indonesia is on the right track, and those involved in INA Digital are part of this success story. INA Digital is a game changer,” Luhut recently said during the INA Digital Town Hall Meeting in Kota Peruri, South Jakarta.
This platform Digital coordinates and integrates government digital services, which have been fragmented across thousands of applications owned by multiple ministries, agencies, and local governments. The integration and interoperability of digital services have become standard in many developed countries, reducing the hassle for citizens in accessing various government services.
Luhut emphasized that the young talents involved in this platfom are change-makers who can lead Indonesia to greater progress. INA Digital’s journey is still very long, but with strong collaboration, many targets will be achievable. He added, “As time passes, we will build this together, continuously improving it to be more capable. Be proud that you are part of building this nation.”
Comprising 413 digital talents
Meanwhile, Abdullah Azwar Anas, Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB), stated that INA Digital’s work needs to be accelerated. Public expectations for INA Digital are very high, as it will enable Indonesia to have integrated digital services for the first time, in line with President Joko Widodo’s directives.
“The journey of GovTech has been long and winding. Hence, do not disappoint the nation’s hopes. President Jokowi repeatedly emphasizes the importance of service interoperability. So, in the future, people should not need to download and enter data into multiple applications for different services. If there is no integration, it will only burden the public,” Anas said.
Anas further emphasized that after the launch of INA Digital, the integration of government digital services will be expedited. Several priority services will be integrated into a single public service portal to be launched in September 2024. The priority services in the integration process include education, healthcare, social assistance, digital payments, digital identity, online driver’s licenses, event permits, and civil service applications. He added, “The public service toll road we all hope for, God willing, can soon be felt by the public.”
On this occasion, President Director of Perum Peruri, Dwina Septiani Wijaya, explained that INA Digital currently has 413 digital talents from various institutions such as Peruri, the Ministry of Health, Telkom, Mandiri, BNI, BRI, and new recruits. Dwina stated that this assignment is an excellent opportunity to build the nation’s future. “We are grateful for the support from all parties for Peruri in running INA Digital. We hope to deliver what the public expects, where they can see significant improvements in public services,” she concluded.
