Heaptalk, Jakarta — To prevent collusion and corruption in development projects, the Government of Fakfak Regency is partnering with the Government of Bandung City to implement a Management Information System for Monitoring, Evaluation, and Development Reporting called Simonel.

“On Friday (31/05), we conducted a working visit to Bandung City Government to socialize the implementation of the Management Information System for Monitoring, Evaluation, and Development Reporting (Simonel),” said Deputy Regent of Fakfak, Yohana Dina Hindom, in a recent press release.

Yohana stated that Bandung City was chosen as a partner since the government has demonstrated multiple changes and innovations in governance as well as good service to the community. She voiced, “This is a necessity and a strategic effort that is crucial for the program’s success by focusing on efficiency, effectiveness, and the impact felt by the community.”

She hopes cooperating with the Bandung City Government and the Fakfak Regency Government will generate new ideas, concepts, and experiences. “Including serving as an example for Fakfak Regency to conduct pilot studies on what has been implemented by Bandung City Government,” said Yohana.

According to her, this system can improve the quality and reach of public services to the broader community. “It is also expected to reduce the level of abuse of authority in the form of collusion, corruption, and nepotism through the implementation of an electronic-based monitoring and public complaint system,” she said.

Thus, monitoring system through Simonel will provide information about the real conditions of development in the community. “So that it can be used as input and a basis for making decisions or policies regarding programs and activities in the following fiscal year,” Yohana concluded.
