The development of Sidomulyo agrotourism village in Kongbeng District is expected to be completed in 2-3 years and become a source of village income.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Government of East Kutai Regency is preparing an agrotourism village, namely Sidomulyo in Kongbeng District. The initiative is marked by the planting of durian trees by East Kutai Regent Ardiansyah Sulaiman at the Neighborhood (RT) 10, Hamlet 2, Sidomulyo Village (05/28). The planting area covers five hectares of land.
Ardiansyah appreciates this program as it utilizes a large area of land with a clean and clear status. Clean means that the land is not being used for other economic activities or occupied by other people who are not entitled to it, while clear means that the land is exactly as stated in the certificate and in accordance with the boundaries.
“Hopefully within two or three years it can operate, then it becomes community income managed by village-owned enterprises (Bumdes). I really salute and this is extraordinary,” said Ardiansyah.
Meanwhile, the Head of Sidomulyo Village, Ashari Setiawan, said that this agrotourism program would later provide fruit orchards, a mini soccer field, and a meeting place. In addition, the manager will build a tourist pond and a child-friendly area in the form of a representative playground.
He explained, “This five-hectare land has been confirmed to be clean and clear based on the village spatial plan. Meanwhile, the development will use Village Funds (DD) and Village Fund Allocations (ADD).”
Further, Ashari said that his party would coordinate and look for development opportunities up to the ministry to realize this agrotourism soon. Although it is included in a long-term target of up to ten years, he is optimistic that this project will be completed faster and become a village icon.
“Hopefully the people of Sidomulyo can continue to support the agrotourism program in this area,” concluded Ashari.
