The XVI Kontak Tani Nelayan Andalan (KTNA) National Week will be held in Padang City, West Sumatra, for six days on June 10-15, 2023.

Heaptalk, Jakarta — The East Kutai Regency Government delegates a total of 130 participants to take part in the XVI National Week of Kontak Tani Nelayan Andalan (KTNA), which translates to the National Outstanding Farmers and Fishermen Association (NOFA). The event will be held for six days on June 10-15, 2023 in Padang City, West Sumatra.

These participants are part of the East Kalimantan Province contingent. Head of the East Kutai Food Security, Horticulture, and Livestock Department (DKPHP), Dyah Ratnaningrum, emphasized that the Regency has prepared its team to support the East Kalimantan contingent to make achievements at the XVI KTNA National Week in Padang this year.

Dyah said, “East Kutai will bring the best-selected farmers and fishermen to participate in a number of activities. There are 52 main participants in total, while for additions, namely groups of observers or assistants as many as 26 people and related regional apparatus organizations participated as many as 52 people. There will be a team from East Kutai with a total of 130 people.”

Further, the Governor of Kalimantan Isran Noor will officially release the East Kalimantan contingent consisting of provincial and regency/city representatives on June 8, 2023, at the Courtyard of the East Kalimantan Governor’s Office. The East Kalimantan stand carried the theme of local commodities in accomplishing food self-sufficiency added to the background design of the Indonesian capital city (IKN).

“This is to illustrate the success of development in East Kalimantan along with support for the development of the IKN. Further, this also ensures the involvement of all participants from regencies/cities in every activity spanning meetings and face-to-face activities at XVI KTNA National Week in Padang City. Thus, all participants can play an active role,” said Dyah.

Meanwhile, the Head of the East Kutai KTNA, Suharman, said that 130 participants for the National Week have been appointed by the East Kutai Government since December 2022.

The determination of the participants was based on the general guidelines and technical instructions for the 2023 National Week. One of the activities in the National Week which will be attended by East Kutai participants is a skill-honing competition.
