Regent Ardiansyah mentioned the indicators of controlled inflation including the secure circulation of money in the community, stable product prices, and constantly available stocks.

Heaptalk, Jakarta — The East Kutai Regency Government through the Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) conducted a high-level meeting at the Pelangi Room, Hotel Royal Victoria, Sangatta (07/11).

This meeting presented several speakers, namely East Kalimantan TPID Anik Suhartatik, Bank Indonesia representative Mirnayantim, Head of the Economic Policy Section of the East Kalimantan Economic Bureau, and Head of the Regional Economic and Financial Policy Implementation Team (KEKDA) of Bank Indonesia East Kalimantan.

The regional inflation control team is tasked with monitoring and preparing steps to address inflation, primarily in the regions. Meanwhile, the central inflation control team was formed in 2005. In 2008, the government formed the team at the regional level, including provinces and regencies/cities.

Regent Ardiansyah Sulaiman mentioned several indicators of controlled inflation, including the secure circulation of money in the community, stable product prices, and constantly available stocks. “Therefore, for those who have a yard, don’t leave it idle. Please grow vegetables such as chilies, medicinal plants, fruits, or raise fish, etc,” said Ardiansyah.

Promoting the use of domestic products

Based on reports on price monitoring in the market, Ardiansyah believes that the prices of food products will not be too high in the period July 2-8, 2023. He hopes there will be no significant issues in the next period to maintain a controlled inflation rate.

For this reason, he asked relevant regional apparatus organizations, namely the Agriculture Department, the Food Security Department, the Plantations Department, as well as the Industry and Trade Department to monitor price fluctuations in the market.

“This concerns all of us. If anything happens between those numbers, whether it’s at the Central Market, South Sangatta Market, or anywhere else, please do something about it. We don’t want our people to have difficulties in meeting their daily needs,” he added.

Apart from that, he also instructed the Cooperatives Department and other agencies in East Kutai to hold bazaars to maintain the circulation of money in the community. This is aligned with the President’s recommendation to promote the use of domestic products, including that 40% of the regional revenue and expenditure budget (APBD) must utilize goods and services from local producers.
