The transfer of IKN was discussed at a synchronization coordination meeting held by the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs (Kemenko Polhukam).

Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs (Kemenko Polhukam) held a synchronization coordination meeting for the relocation of the Indonesian Capital City (IKN) at the Blue Sky Hotel Ballroom, Balikpapan (05/30). Commencing the meeting, the Expert Staff of the Coordinating Minister in the field of Human Resources and Technology, Major General Burlian Sjafei, delivered that this activity aims to discuss the coordination and synchronization of related agencies for the transfer of IKN.

“Ready and coordinating with each other to support the development of IKN. Moreover, in the near future there is a plan for the implementation of the ceremony for the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia in 2024 nationally to be held at the IKN,” said Burlian reading the Minister’s remarks.

In this meeting, five speakers were presented, namely the Director of Supervision, Monitoring and Evaluation of the IKN Authority, Ferdinand Kana Lo; Lead Policy Analyst of the Ministry of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (Kemenpanrb) Arizal; Director of Construction Continuity of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (Kemen PUPR) Kimron Manik; Kabagjakum Rojakstra Srena Polri Kombes Pol Hadiutomo; and Director of the Defense Region of the Ministry of Defense Kol Laut (P) Sugeng Suryanto.

Representing the East Kutai Regent, Assistant for Development Economics to the Regency Secretary, Zubair, and the Head of the Development Section, Insan Bowo Asmoro, also attended the meeting. Zubair hopes that the Coordination and Synchronization Forum (FKS) for the transfer of IKN can increase the synergy and coordination between related agencies in supporting the transfer of IKN.

Further, he said, “All parties agreed to continue communicating and coordinating with each other to overcome various challenges that might arise during the transfer process.” The smooth and successful transfer of IKN is expected to have a positive impact on the development of the new capital city itself.

“Surely the Government of East Kutai Regency as one of several IKN buffer areas in East Kalimantan Province will continue to provide support,” concluded Zubair.
