Heaptalk, Jakarta — The construction of the Vice Presidential Palace in Indonesia’s future capital (IKN), Nusantara Capital, has reached 40% completion, according to a press release issued by the Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN) on Sunday. (04/20)
Acting Deputy for Facilities and Infrastructure at OIKN, Danis Hidayat Sumadilaga, stated that the project will be completed in parallel with ongoing evaluation and rejuvenation efforts, coordinated with the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR).
“The Vice Presidential Palace, designed with a blend of modern architecture and local cultural wisdom, is expected to become one of the key landmarks of the new capital.” Danis added.
OIKN Head Basuki Hadimuljono reaffirmed the government’s commitment to continuing infrastructure development in IKN. This is marked by the finalization of the Budget Implementation List (DIPA) for new construction projects under the authority.
“All pending works — including the airport, toll roads, Vice Presidential Palace, mosque, and various road networks — will be completed under multi-year contracts funded through the Ministry of Public Works,” Basuki explained.
He further elaborated that road paving and development works across the Central Government Core Area (KIPP) of IKN have been secured in the finalized DIPA with a total allocation of US$800 million, or about Rp13.5 trillion. “Approximately US$320 million, or around Rp5.4 trillion will come from OIKN, while an additional US$480 million, or equals to Rp8.1 trillion will be allocated for the development of judicial and legislative areas,” said Basuki during the East Kalimantan Provincial Regional Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) meeting held at the IKN Authority Office on Wednesday, April 16, 2025.
