Communication and Informatics Dept conducts mobile journalism training for East Kutai Govt employees

The mobile journalism training was attended by 72 representatives of regional apparatus organizations and presented speakers from Liputan6, namely Harun Billah and Awaluddin Jalil.

Heaptalk, Jakarta — East Kutai Communication and Informatics, Statistics and Encryption Department (Diskominfo Staper) organized journalistic and multimedia training for two days on July 17-18, 2023 training in the Damar Room, Multifunction Building, Bukit Pelangi, Sangatta.

The training which carried out the theme of mobile journalism was attended by 72 representatives of regional apparatus organizations in the Government of East Kutai Regency. The speakers presented were Liputan6 editor Harun Mahbub Billah and Liputan6 journalist Awaluddin Jalil.

Commencing the event, Vice Regent Kasmidi Bulang conveyed that journalistic activities play an essential role in the process of social change in society. The science of journalism has a function as a conveyer of information that is constructive and related to the interests of the wider community. Nowadays, the activities are not limited to mainstream media such as print and television media, but also websites and social media as new media.

“Diverse emerging media provide brush choices for each individual in disseminating information apart from print and electronic media. Currently, websites and social media have shown their existence in information dissemination, including in both central and regional government circles,” Kasmidi voiced (07/17).

Further, Kasmidi is optimistic that the training can add enlightenment and new knowledge for government websites and social media managers in disseminating regional development information to the public.

Meanwhile, Secretary of the East Kutai Diskominfo Staper Rasyid delivered the agenda aims to deliver basic training related to journalistic writing techniques and basic knowledge of mobile journalism for website and social media managers of regional apparatus organizations in East Kutai.

“Participants are able to make videos in the form of news/reel clips when events or activities occur in their respective regional apparatuses,” said Rasyid. Further, participants are expected to make news releases for the dissemination of multiple regional development information in their organization to the public. Rasyid also hopes that the participants will be able to optimize website content and social media for each organization.
