Heaptalk, Jakarta — After being postponed for two years as the impact of pandemic, Wastra Indonesia exhibition, WARISAN 2022, will show its presence on August 24th – 28th at Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Jakarta. The 5th WARISAN expo intends to increase brand awareness of event visitors’ related most fantastic wastra products.
Regarding the product quality, the Director of PT Mediatama Binakreasi, Umi Nur Wijayati, stated her party would invite three professional curators to ensure the product originality of the expo this year. Umi elaborated that the committee will emphasize a hand-written batik product, written and stamped, processed using the hot wax resist method.
In terms of weaving products, Umi affirmed that the participants are prohibited from displaying their weaving products processed using machines, while for the Pearl products, the exhibitors must reveal their genuine pearls from the south sea in Indonesia, generally known as the South Sea Pearls products.
As the WARISAN event promoters, PT Mediatama Binakreasi will entail 125 participants with 132 booths built to showcase their exclusive products. The exhibitors who participated in the event comprised 115 individual booths, 6 agency participants’ booths, and 11 State-Owned Corporation booths. By embracing numerous exhibitors from diverse reaches, containing artisans, exporters, product distributors, associations, and the community, organizing the WARISAN 2022 expo is targeted to attract around 7,500 visitors with a USD1 million total transaction.
Apart from showing plenty of Indonesia’s legacy products, the committee also will provide other enticing programs to increase visitors’ insights related to the Batik, Weaving, and Pearl production process at the Talkshow and Workshop schedule. Different attractive agendas are also presented during the five days of the expo, consisting of Art Performance, Draping Competition for selected Vocational Schools, WARISAN Award dedicated for the exhibitors, Quiz, and Gimmicks program.
Considering the tremendous potential possessed by Indonesia’s heritage products, holding this exhibition has gained well backing from several government entities, including Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Trade, the Ministry of Cooperatives, and Small Medium Enterprises.
Multiple contributions also come from diverse associations, including Indonesia’s Batik Foundation (YBI), Indonesia’s Cita Weaving (CTI), Indonesian Pearl Cultivation Association (ASBUMI), Indonesian Handicraft Exporters and Manufacturers Association (ASEPHI), National Craft Council (DEKRANAS), Indonesian Batik Producers and Entrepreneurs Association (APPBI), and Indonesian Exhibition Company Association (ASPERAPI).
WARISAN 2022 will be divided into three visits each day. The visitors who come to the expo will not be charged any admission fees if they wear one of the focused products, namely Batik, Weaving, and Pearl. However, they can also visit the event without wearing these products by purchasing a $6,73 entrance ticket.
