Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) was officially opened at JIExpo, Central Jakarta, on Thursday (02/13) by the Minister of Industry, Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita. He expressed hope that the IIMS 2025 exhibition would positively boost the recovery of the domestic automotive industry.
“Given the current sluggish market conditions, all stakeholders, including the government, need to seek breakthroughs to reignite consumer interest in automotive purchases,” said Agus.

According to the latest data from the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (Gaikindo), total wholesale car sales were recorded at 61,843 units in January 2025. This figure represents an 11.3% year-on-year decline compared to the same period last year when 69,758 units were sold.
Furthermore, Agus also appreciated the increased participation in the IIMS 2025 exhibition, which has expanded the exhibition area. He added, “The number of exhibitors has grown continuously each year, and IIMS shows a positive trend that will help the government revitalize the national automotive industry.”
The Indonesia International Motor Show 2025 features at least 31 car and 25 motorcycle brands. The exhibition runs from February 13 to 23, 2025, and occupies all halls at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.
