Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Indonesian Muslim Entrepreneurs Community (KPMI) is organizing the first edition of the Muslim MSME Festival from May 31 to June 2, 2024, in collaboration with Lima Event Indonesia.
The Muslim MSME Festival, which will take place at the Innovation Convention Center (ICC) BRIN Cibinong, Bogor Regency, is part of the Muslim LifeFair series which was previously held at JIExpo Kemayoran in March 2024.
Bogor is chosen as the first venue for this festival considering the enthusiasm and demand of the Bogor community for halal MSME products and the development of the halal lifestyle ecosystem, which consistently shows a positive trend. In terms of capacity and facilities, ICC BRIN is adequate for hosting a bazaar concept event featuring Muslim products and halal cuisine, which typically attracts more than 20,000 visitors.
Kusnan bin Kundori, Director of the KPMI Business Club Bogor Regional Coordinator, underlined the significant role of the Muslim MSME Festival in providing a crucial platform for halal product entrepreneurs. This event offers a unique opportunity for them to expand their businesses through networking, adapt to the changing times, and showcase their resilience and creativity.
One of the top 6 market demands
“The MSME base in Bogor is quite large. Bogor Regency had 52,000 MSMEs in 2020, 45,000 in 2021, and around 43,000 in 2022. The decline is likely due to the impact of COVID-19. There were also many MSMEs in Bogor City, with 6,600 MSMEs in 2020, 5,600 MSMEs in 2021, and 4,600 MSMEs in 2022. Certainly, this Muslim LifeFair (MLF) is an honor for us, especially in Bogor, to hold the Muslim MSME Festival,” Kusnan explained at the press conference of the Muslim MSMEs Festival in Jakarta (05/22).
Furthermore, the Muslim MSME Festival aligns with Indonesia’s ambitious mission to become the world’s halal hub. By strengthening the ecosystem of halal business actors and promoting the halal lifestyle, this event plays a vital role in bringing the halal lifestyle to life within the community. Cibinong, with its rich history of creative and inspirational MSMEs, is poised to become a driving force for the halal lifestyle and brand image as a city of Halal MSMEs.
According to Hendrawan Wijanarko, the representative of Marketing and Communication at Lima Event Indonesia, Cibinong in Bogor Regency is one of the top 6 market demands based on a survey conducted on visitors to Muslim LifeFair in previous cities. “We are targeting 20,000 visitors over the three-day exhibition with tickets priced at Rp30,000, which can be purchased online,” Hendrawan said in Jakarta (05/22).
Featuring 80 brands
In more detail, the festival will feature around 80 brands with 105 booths from various product categories, including Muslim fashion, halal beauty and care, baby and kids, Islamic education, halal cuisine, and halal tour and travel. Exhibitors come not only from Cibinong and Bogor but also from Jakarta and Yogyakarta.
The Muslim MSME Festival will feature several programs similar to Muslim LifeFair, including limited edition product offers, flash sales of up to 75%, and discount deals starting from Rp5,000 to Rp25,000. During the three-day event, visitors can attend a series of business classes and business matching sessions for entrepreneurs, muamalah sharing sessions with scholars, and parenting sharing sessions. Meanwhile, the festival provides a play area conducive to creativity for children.
If this exhibition is successful, the organizers plan to make it an annual event as part of the Muslim LifeFair Goes to Muslim LifeFest roadshow. The organizers plan to bring this festival to Bandung at Husein Sastranegara Airport on October 4-6, 2024, and the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) on December 27-29, 2024.
