Heaptalk, Yogyakarta — Lifestyle and halal product expo, Muslim Life Fair is officially opened in Yogyakarta (06/09). Among multiple agendas presented, one of the most enticing activities is the organizing of special training for MSMEs to obtain halal certification.
This agenda is the collaboration of the Indonesian Muslim Entrepreneurs Community (KPMI) – the host of the event – and Halal Academy to enhance product quality, which later will improve entrepreneurs’ competitiveness to compete globally.
“Halal certification becomes a step to improve MSMEs’ product quality to be more competitive and make them easy to expand their business globally,” stated the Director of the organizer, Lima Events, Deddy Andu.
In addition to delivering guidance, coaching session provided by Halal Industry Academy also will facilitate the meeting between entrepreneurs and The Indonesian Ulema Council Assessment Institute for Foods, Drugs, and Cosmetics (LPPOM MUI).
Responding to this agenda, the Director of LPPOM MUI Yogyakarta, Tridjoko Wisnu Murti expressed appreciation for this initiative. He conveyed, “This time, we have collaborated with numerous parties to promote the acceleration of halal certification to entrepreneurs in Yogyakarta. One of which is through Assessment and Empowering Consumer Institute (IPPK) to assist private sector and industry to have halal certification.”
In more detail, this cooperation is carried out by organizing various programs to enhance halal quality guarantee, including Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), as well as empowering halal industry.
For the emergence of the activity, the Regional Head of Religious Ministry for Yogyakarta Masmin Afif suggested entrepreneurs utilize this opportunity to obtain halal certification for free during the event.
