Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Halal Fair 2024, held at ICE BSD from December 6 to 8, aims to encourage small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to compete in the international market.
Satrio Sukur, Project Director of WPCitra, in his opening remarks on Friday (12/06), stated that this goal is achievable as Halal Fair 2024 has a larger scale due to its collaboration with the Halal Indonesia International Trade Show (HIITS).
“Several countries, such as Egypt, Malaysia, Uzbekistan, Australia, and Tunisia, are ready to become collaborative partners and promote Indonesia’s halal businesses,” said Satrio.
During the event, Satrio mentioned that the Halal Fair aims to strengthen the halal business and lifestyle ecosystem, both locally and globally. Not only for retail consumers, but the event also serves as a business education platform through practical talk shows, such as the secrets of successful exports to Australia and tips for penetrating the Malaysian and Egyptian markets.
Satrio also stated, “In addition to food, the Halal Fair organizes a creative seminar called Rihlah, with speakers from various backgrounds, including public figures such as Ricky Harun, Herfiza, and Dini Aminarti. A total of 12 religious teachers will also give lectures on family, business, and social interactions.”
Moreover, the Halal Fair 2024 features exciting activities for children, such as the Chef’s Table Experience, Cooking Live Show, and Little Chefs, where kids can learn how to make Japanese donuts.
Meanwhile, Haikal Hassan, Head of the Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH), appreciated the consistency of the Halal Fair since 2019. He emphasized the importance of halal certification to protect consumers and facilitate producers to create high-quality products.
According to him, with the increasing awareness of halal products, certification has become a key necessity, especially in supporting expansion into international markets.
