Heaptalk, Jakarta — Krista Exhibitions will hold the 22nd international exhibition AllPack Indonesia 2023 for four days on October 11-14 at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) Kemayoran, Jakarta.

This event exhibits diverse products in the fields of processing and packaging technology for food, beverages, biscuits, confectionery, pharmacy/drugs, herbal medicine, cosmetics, personal care, beauty, agriculture, oil/liquids/chemicals, electronics, refrigeration, and other supporting industries.

Simultaneously with AllPack Indonesia 2023, Krista Exhibitions will also organize the 24th international exhibition AllPrint Indonesia 2023 at the same place. The event showcases a variety of printing technologies, equipment, and machine supplies.

“This year’s AllPack Indonesia and AllPrint Indonesia international exhibition has experienced an increase in the number of exhibitors by around 30% from the previous year and will connect more than 1,100 companies, 200 of which are MSMEs and are ready to attract more than 35,000 visitors both local and international,” said the CEO of Krista Exhibitions Daud Salim at the press conference in Jakarta (10/06).

This year’s exhibitors come from 19 countries, spanning Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Vietnam, South Korea, India, Germany, France, Italy, China, Austria, India, Indonesia, Taiwan, Thailand, England, Australia, Canada, and the USA. Daud added, “Through the AllPack Indonesia and AllPrint Indonesia 2023 exhibition, we will bring hundreds of professionals in the processing, packaging, automation, food and beverage handling, as well as pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries.”

Growing 6% with business value reaching Rp116.8 trillion in 2023

Attending the press conference, the Director General of Agro-Industry at the Ministry of Industry, Putu Juli Ardika, conveyed President Joko Widodo’s direction to encourage and create packaging to improve the hygiene of packaged food. The government is also asked to make food and drinks attractive with packaging as the level of packaging can determine the level of a nation’s standard of living.

According to Putu, the global packaging printing market will be valued at approximately US$375 billion by 2023. This value is projected to grow by around 8% in 2023-2028 and reach a market share of US$552 billion in 2028. In Indonesia, the packaging market grew by 4% in 2021 with a business value of Rp102-105 trillion. In 2022, the market experienced an increase of 5% with a business value of Rp107-110 trillion. In 2023, the packaging market is estimated to grow 6% with business value reaching Rp116.8 trillion.

“This is big business. We seek to encourage this packaging sector to become our core business since now we have an import substitution program. One of the activities in the program is reducing packaging imports,” said Putu. Through AllPack and AllPrint Indonesia Expo 2023, he hopes that the domestic packaging and printing industry can develop further.

Aligned with Putu Juli Ardika, the Director General of Small, Medium, and Miscellaneous Industries at the Ministry of Industry, Reni Yanita, emphasized the importance of packaging for small and medium industries, primarily food and beverages. “We are also making improvements to existing packaging. The goal is to make the SME products not inferior to the large industrial products. In our efforts to increase the competitiveness of SME products, we need relevant stakeholders,” said Reni.

Therefore, Reni welcomed AllPack and AllPrint Indonesia Expo 2023 to introduce the capabilities of domestic producers in the fields of processing, product packaging, automation, as well as handling of food and beverage, pharmaceutical and cosmetic products.
