The lowest inflation rate in Indonesia reached 4.97%. Rice, eggs, cooking oil, and chicken meat have the potential to contribute to inflation in April.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — A coordination meeting on inflation control was held virtually by the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri). Led directly by Minister Tito Karnavian, the meeting was attended by local governments throughout Indonesia, including East Kutai.
East Kutai Regent Ardiansyah Sulaiman and his staff attended the virtual meeting from the meeting room of the Communication and Informatics, Statistics, and Encryption Department (Diskominfo Staper).
In the meeting, Tito conveyed that the inflation rate in Indonesia is currently in the 46th place out of 186 countries with the lowest inflation rate of 4.97% (yoy). “Meanwhile, at the G20 country level, we are ranked 8th out of 24 countries and at the ASEAN level, Indonesia is ranked 6th out of 11 countries,” said Tito.
In addition, Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics of Statistics Indonesia (BPS) Pudji Ismartini said that the national inflation rate in the first quarter of 2023 was relatively under control.
“It is observed that the commodities of rice, eggs, cooking oil, and purebred chicken have the potential to contribute to inflation in April 2023. Meanwhile, red chilies, cayennes, and shallots will continue to experience price reductions until the second week of April 2023,” voiced Pudji.
Meanwhile, Regent Ardiansyah expressed his gratitude as inflation in East Kalimantan Province in general, and East Kutai Regency, in particular, is still at a safe rate.
“Alhamdulillah, this is due to our intervention for the past few days. I thank all parties who have intervened in the field, both conducting market operations and distributing goods to the community. Especially towards Eid al-Fitr, many affluent people provide parcels to the community in the form of basic food assistance and so on,” said Ardiansyah.
In addition, Ardiansyah is also grateful as the regency received assistance from the Logistic Affairs Agency (Bulog) through the Food Security Department in the form of 468,570 tons of rice which will later be distributed to 139 villages and 2 urban villages in East Kutai. “This assistance will be distributed in three stages, which can mean any time,” concluded Ardiansyah.
