Heaptalk, Jakarta – International freight forwarder headquartered in Indonesia, Hyper Mega Shipping (HMS), announced has opened a new branch in Singapore. The CEO of HMS, Ms. Reef Man, during HMS Iftar Event, said that the measure is carried out to facilitate container movement across the world, especially containers from and to Indonesia. (04/13)
In more specifics, Reef Man conveyed the reason behind its expansion to Singapore, “We decided to build our branch in Singapore due to several considerations. The first thing is its strategic location. Singapore is quite close to Indonesia, and its geographical location is strategic in ASEAN.”
Moreover, she added that Singapore’s policy concerning free trade ports also becomes one of HMS’s considerations. For these reasons, Reef stated that Singapore is a great place to boost the Company’s business.
“We also need some ports to help us to ship Indonesia’s goods worldwide via Singapore. Singapore also, for a long time, is a good partner for Indonesia,” stated Reef Man.
By opening the new branch, the Company aims to promote Indonesia to the world and later will assist Indonesia’s entities in expanding their businesses to other countries. Henceforward, Reef also revealed that the freight forwarder company has a plan to open a new branch, but there is no fixed location yet.
The opening of the HMS branch in Singapore indicates the Company’s resilience in facing economic turbulence. Reef voiced that worldwide logistics keep on going, even during the pandemic. In order to make the business run smoothly, a company should be good at spotting the trend. To overcome this severe condition, Reef uttered that HMS has performed some strategies, including estimating route with high demand, focusing business on the high-demand area, providing the most cost-effective ways to its customers, and helping customers to find an alternative route to prevent delivery delays.
