Heaptalk, Jakarta — The East Kutai Government Tourism Agency (Dispar) organized a Creative Economy Entrepreneurial Capital Training. This training is specifically devoted to the communities around forest areas in the sub-districts of North Sangatta, South Sangatta, Bengalon, and Karangan.

This occasion was opened by the Assistant General Administration Secretary to the Cabinet of East Kutai, Jamiatulkhair Daik, representing the Regent Ardiansyah, at Pelangi Room, Royal Victoria Hotel (11/08).

Jamiatulkhair explained Indonesia’s creative economy is one of the most affected industries due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, this industry is considered to contain tremendous opportunities to bounce back in strengthening the stability of the community’s economy.

“Generally, the creative economy is undoubtedly linked with the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). For this reason, this schedule is anticipated to be a symbol of the revival of the creative economy in East Kutai,” Jamiatulkhair said.

Furthermore, he elaborated that human resource competency development must be balanced with a robust spirit and intention by improving literacy to enhance self-capacity to compete in the business sector. Moreover, the rapid digital transformation has penetrated entire industries in Indonesia.

“After conducting this training agenda, I expect the participants could deliver their fantastic ideas and more innovative paradigms to become pioneers for the new order of life. Thus, I look forward to good cooperation to reach welfare in the East Kutai,”

Previously, the Head of the Government Tourism Agency of East Kutai, Nurullah, reported the training participants are the tourism players, particularly MSMEs in Sangatta, the Indonesian Tour Guide Association (HPI), travel agents, Travel Awareness Group (Pokdarwis), Tourist Destination Manager, tourism activists, and tourism offices.

“The Karangan sub-districts contain 50 participants, South Sangatta 50 participants, Bengalon 50 participants, and around 25 participants come from North Sangatta,” Nurullah said.

On the other hand, he revealed that tourism enhancement needs powerful synergy and collaboration from several stakeholders, covering the village government, the tourism players, the tourism partners, and private academists to develop the East Kutai tourism industry to be competitive with other Indonesia’s regions.

As it is known, this training activity has involved several speakers, including Erwiantono and Heru Susilo from Mulawarman University, Samarinda; Mirza Yonathan from Exotic Kaltim; and Widya Atika Sari from East Kutai’s TDA.
