Heaptalk, Jakarta – The distribution of subsidized housing through the Housing Financing Liquidity Facility (FLPP) surged by 1,173.92% in the first quarter of 2025, reaching 53,875 housing units— a sharp increase compared to just 4,229 units in the same period in 2024.

The data were revealed by Heru Pudyo, Commissioner of the Public Housing Savings Management Agency (BP Tapera), during a meeting with the Minister of Housing and Settlements (PKP), Maruarar Sirait, at Menara Mandiri, Jakarta, on Monday (May 20).

“With all the support, incentives, and motivation from the Minister, FLPP distribution in Q1 2025 jumped by 1,173.92%,” said Heru.

He explained that the leap in performance was driven by the government’s policy relaxations issued in November 2024, including those related to the Land and Building Rights Acquisition Duty (BPHTB) and Value Added Tax (VAT).

“These relaxations have had a massive impact,” Heru emphasized.

According to data from the Sikasep application, as of May 2025, 127,935 units have been registered for the subsidized housing program. With the national target set at 220,000 units this year, more than half has already been achieved within five months.

Given this outstanding progress, the government now plans to increase the 2025 FLPP quota from 220,000 to 350,000 housing units, with the total budget rising from IDR 28.2 trillion to approximately IDR 35.2 trillion.

“From the original 220,000 units—this could be the largest ever in Indonesia’s history under President Prabowo. For the first time, 350,000 units are ready,” said Minister Maruarar.

He also responded to recent negative narratives about the country’s prospects by saying this achievement disproves claims that “Indonesia’s future is dark.”

“We’ve heard claims that the future is bleak—bleak ? This is based on data. It clearly shows that Indonesia is bright, and the housing industry is thriving,” he asserted.

Minister Maruarar also highlighted that the housing sector is linked to more than 180 industries, including cement, glass, lighting, sand, and labor, making its impact significant for the wider economy.

During the visit, the Minister held a dialogue with BP Tapera staff, played the motivational song “I Believe I Can Fly,”and personally awarded umrah trips to three top-performing employees.

“Thanks to hard work, and the trust and support from President Prabowo, the DPR, Bank Indonesia, the Ministry of Finance, Danantara, SOEs, BPKP, and our partners in the private sector and banking—achieving a 1,100% growth in just three months proves what’s possible,” Maruarar concluded, in reference to the government’s 3 Million Housing Program.
