Heaptalk, Jakarta — GoTo’s on-demand service unit, Gojek, announced a strategic collaboration with Google Maps to significantly enhance the mapping experience for consumers, driver-partners, and merchants within the Gojek ecosystem.
By integrating Gojek’s real-time field data with Google Maps’ advanced geospatial technology, the collaboration will optimize navigation, reduce delivery times, and improve the online visibility of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) on the Gojek app.
Serving millions of consumers daily, Gojek generates vast amounts of real-time data that provide deep insights into mobility patterns and road conditions. Leveraging this data, Gojek continuously enhances its navigation system to ensure a smoother and more efficient experience for driver-partners and consumers.
By integrating these capabilities with Google Maps’ advanced geospatial tools, such as real-time traffic analysis, this collaboration will intelligently optimize routes, reducing delivery times and improving overall efficiency. Additionally, both companies will work together to enhance destination selection, search functionality, and pickup/drop-off experiences, making trips more seamless and intuitive for users and driver-partners alike.
Yael Maguire, VP and GM of Google Maps Platform at Google, commented, “Our collaboration with GoTo will help ensure that millions of people in Indonesia have access to the most up-to-date and reliable information about their surroundings through Google Maps and GoTo’s on-demand services.”
As part of its efforts to enhance the visibility of MSME merchants through Google Maps and Google Business Profiles, Google will collaborate with GoFood to educate and onboard merchants onto Google Business Profiles. This initiative will ensure more accurate business listings and improved online visibility for merchant partners, strengthening the digital presence of small businesses in Indonesia. By making it easier for consumers to discover and order from GoFood merchants, this effort underscores GoTo’s ongoing commitment to supporting MSMEs.
In last year’s report, GoTo’s adjusted EBITDA for the On-Demand Services (ODS) business unit increased by 12% year-on-year (YoY) in Q4 to Rp267 billion. The service reached Rp679 billion for the full year 2024, compared to a loss of Rp219 billion in the previous year.
