Heaptalk, Jakarta — Indonesia-based startup repurposing tropical seaweed into biostimulants and biofertilizers, Zentide, bags strategic investment of about US$525,000, or approximately Rp8.6 billion. Zentide plans to scale its product development, broaden its footprint across Indonesia, and collaborate with strategic partners with a vision for sustainable agricultural transformation.
The agricultural sector is increasingly burdened by soil degradation, excessive reliance on chemical fertilizers, and escalating greenhouse gas emissions. Zentide seeks to counter these issues with a sustainable, nature-driven approach, leveraging tropical seaweed’s rich bioactive compounds to restore soil health and minimize ecological damage.
According to Zachary Nice, Zentide’s Founder & CEO, the company is determined to reshape modern agriculture with eco-friendly alternatives that support both the planet and farming communities. The founder emphasized that the company’s goal is to unlock the full potential of natural marine resources to promote sustainable farming, lower carbon emissions, and uplift coastal economies.
Beyond offering innovative biofertilizers, Zentide fosters economic resilience for seaweed farmers while actively combating soil depletion and harmful agricultural emissions. As it grows, Zentide positions itself as a catalyst for change in the global agricultural landscape, combining environmental responsibility with economic viability.
“Zentide is harnessing the power of tropical seaweed to provide real-world solutions for farmers, communities, and environmental sustainability. We are thrilled to support Zachary and his team in driving the future of regenerative agriculture,” said Guillem Segarra, Principal at Wavemaker Impact.
As Southeast Asia’s venture builder in climate technology, Wavemaker Impact is committed to launching startups capable of significantly reducing carbon emissions. The firm’s vision is to cultivate “100×100” companies—businesses designed to cut 100 million metric tons of CO₂e while generating at least USD100 million in annual revenue.
