Heaptalk, Jakarta — Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison partnered with insurance company Zurich Asuransi Indonesia to provide comprehensive insurance products accessible to Indosat’s customers by integrating telecommunications and insurance services in one application.
Director and Chief Commercial Officer of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, Ritesh Kumar Singh, conveyed that this strategic partnership will amplify our measures to deliver an experience in underserved areas. By leveraging the latest technology and a data-driven approach, the company will significantly improve service accessibility and comprehensive protection for the uninsured and insured segments.
Furthermore, the collaboration will utilize Indosat’s ecosystem of over 100 million users to offer protection solutions to multiple segments of society. Zurich will provide products through its application, including reimbursement of postpaid bills and travel insurance for flight cancellations, lost luggage, and emergency medical needs. Future offerings like hospital cash plans and cracked screen insurance are also developing to cover further protection needs at affordable premiums.
In Q1 2024, Indosat recorded an increase in customer numbers by 2.3% year over year, reaching 100.8 million customers. This growth contributed to a jump in data traffic of 14.3% to 3,858 Petabytes (PB). This increase occurred in line with strategic investments in improving its network infrastructure.
In terms of its profit, Indosat recorded a robust revenue in the early quarter, reaching a US$79.38 million profit, a jump of 29.4% YoY. This achievement is contributed by the positive growth of IOH’s earnings, which attained US$851.1 million, an increase of 15.8% YoY. The company’s EBITDA also demonstrated a positive result in Q1 2024, reaching US$400 million, escalating to 22.1% YoY.
Zurich has served customers in Indonesia for over 33 years, offering a variety of general, life, and Sharia insurance products. These products are characterized by affordable premiums, straightforward registration, expedited claims handling, and propositions designed to deliver a superior customer experience.
