Heaptalk, Jakarta — The South Tangerang City Government, through the Department of Food Security, Agriculture, and Fisheries (DKPPP), organized an Economical Food Movement at the DKPPP Office Courtyard, Tandon Ciater, Serpong, on Monday. (08/26)
This event attracted the attention of thousands of people. Since early morning, residents have gathered to seize the opportunity to shop at lower prices at this event held by the South Tangerang City Government.
According to Yeppi Suherman, the Head of the Department of Food Security, Agriculture, and Fisheries, this movement is a strategic measure of the South Tangerang government to curb inflation in the region.
“This move demonstrates how the government and the citizens work together to cut the inflation, which may be challenging, and how the government tries to control market prices,” he said.
The organization of this strategic movement also involves collaboration with multiple sectors, from the National Food Agency to the banking sector. In addition to this movement implementation, Yeppi mentioned that they are also continuing the Self-Sufficient Food Neighborhood program.
“This program can produce food materials, at least for your family and neighbors,” he said.
He also mentioned a plan to break the Indonesian Museum of Records (MURI) by plating one million chii trees, involving residents, communities, and the government.
Meanwhile, Yudi, a National Food Agency (Bapanas) representative, appreciated the South Tangerang government’s efforts to promote this movement to reduce inflation. He also urged that this initiative be held periodically, particularly in December, ahead of Christmas and New Year, as public demand increases.
