Heaptalk, Jakarta — After conducting comprehensive investigation towards lockbit 3.0 attack, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affair (Menkopolhukam) Hadi Tjahjanto revealed that the Government has found the loopholes that become the entry point of ransomware attack.
“From our forensics result, we find the user that always uses the same password and causing this serious problem,” stated Hadi on Monday in Kemenpolhukam, Jakarta (07/01).
However, Hadi undisclosed the further information towards the investigation result and the culprit. He informed that National cyber Security Agency (BSSN) will conduct deeper investigation and monitoring to the tenants. The legal sanction also will be executed according to the applicable regulation.
After attending the coordination meeting with the Minister of Communication and Informatics Budi Arie, and the Head of BSSN Hinsa Siburian, Hadi also announced that the system is set to fully recover this July. He also added, “This meeting discussed the back up data and also our plan to transform our cold site in Batam into hot site for strategic services”.
In the meeting, data center owner is required to have backup data. This backup, further, is stored in backup cloud which is divided based on several zones which will be specifically determined.
“So, the data will be grouped, the general data will be gathered with the other general data, and the statistic data will be stored with the other statistic data in cloud,” stated Hadi.
