The agenda, which was held by Bappenas and inaugurated by President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo, adopted the theme of Accelerating Inclusive and Sustainable Economic Growth. On the sidelines of the event, Acting Governor Andap delivered the agenda, explaining that the achievement of development targets in Indonesia for the 2014 – 2023 period has increased.
“The achievements of macro development indicators show very positive things. Our economic growth is stable and maintained at around 5%, poverty has diminished to 9.36, the number of jobs has almost tripled to 4.55, the human development index has risen by more than 5 points, the ratio coefficient has dropped to 0.388, and the exchange rate farmers rose more than 10 points,” explained Andap.
Furthermore, the archipelago’s economic status elevated, becoming Upper Middle Income, or equal to USD1 trillion. Moreover, the country’s financial contribution to the global economy also bumped from 2.4% to 2.5% last year.
To retain the region’s performance, Andap will follow up on the President and Board of Ministers’ mandate to synchronize central and regional policies. This plan aims to create an increasingly advanced, modern, prosperous Southeast Sulawesi.
“We will continue the President Jokowi’s direction to align central and regional policies to make Southeast Sulawesi more advanced,” Andap concluded.
