Heaptalk, Jakarta — The Head of the E-Government Implementation Division at the Communications and Information Services Department (Diskominfo) of Berau Regency, Rahmatia, revealed that implementation of Berau’s Electronic-based Government System (SPBE) has to be improved significantly due to performing a low indexically.
“Our e-government system still needs to improve in terms of valuation indexically. Despite focusing on our low index, the implementation of SPBE is the primary point to be concerned with,” Tia stated during the National Coordination Meeting agenda regarding the Collaborative Implementation of the SPBE system.
However, regarding infrastructure development, she claimed the district’s digital infrastructure has received full government support. In this case, Rahmatia, generally called Tia, conveyed that the regency government of Berau has the infrastructure to install a WIFI network freely, spreading a thousand locations and reaching the villages in the region.
Regarding the bandwidth provision, Tia claimed that the infrastructure has been built well, and the district government has subscribed to multiple companies, including iCon Plus and Telkom, to serve Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) with a total Bandwidth possessed up to 300 Mbps. Nevertheless, she admitted the Berau district’s e-government system still needs to integrate with other data and platforms.
Perceiving a low index of SPBE progress in Berau Regency, she admitted that the Regency Secretary entity also needs to improve their comprehension related to the significance of the e-government system. For this reason, Tia looks forward to the related Ministries’ endeavor to encourage the Bureau’s Regent and the region secretary to help speed up SPBE implementation.
Through this national meeting, Tia also hopes the Ministry can reach district governments regarding the latest digital applications that must be adopted comprehensively to facilitate regional governments centralizing the data.
“As is well known, we are still encountering several issues related to the strategic funds because we do not have a special fund to develop further. For this reason, we hope the central government can channel the funds for the Smart City implementation in Berau Regency to be more advanced.” Tia said in her closing statement.
