According to The North Morowali Regent Delis Julkarson, the Regency has set an investment target of Rp10 trillion or approximately US$665.5 million in 2023.

Heaptalk, Jakarta — North Morowali Regency participated in a commodity and investment exhibition, Apkasi Otonomi Expo (AOE) 2023 which took place at Hall 3 and 3A Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD, Tangerang. Organized by the Association of All Indonesia Regency Government (Apkasi), the event was held for three days on July 20-22, 2023.

Attending the first day of the event, North Morowali Regent Delis Julkarson Hehi appreciated the Apkasi Otonomi Expo 2023 which was assembled with the Apkasi National Work Meeting XV. Delis aims for his party to bring in new investors to North Morowali.

“Surely this is a proper event for the region to promote existing potential to both domestic and foreign investors. Our target is to be able to bring in new investors,” Delis voiced.

This year, the North Morowali Regency Government has set an investment target of Rp10 trillion or approximately US$665.5 million (US$1 equals Rp15,027). In 2022, the Regency managed to record a fantastic increment in investment reaching Rp12 trillion or nearly US$798.3 million, around 248% higher than the target set at Rp4.8 trillion or approximately US$319.4 million.

Through this exhibition, Delis expects that North Morowali can attract more investors to achieve the investment ambition. He said, “Currently the realization has reached more than 2 trillion. That means it’s already at 25%. We hope that at the end of the year, we will obtain more. We have investors from China, there are also domestic ones, and there are some investors from Taiwan.”

Bringing in 25 potential investors from 5 countries

The local Government continue to cooperate with investors as well as association to attain the investment target, one of which International Business Association (IBA). The expo, further, becomes a place to showcase the region’s potency to the prospective investors.

During the event, the Chairman of the International Business Association (IBA) Shan Shan reportedly has brought a group of 25 potential investors from 5 countries, spanning Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, and Singapore.

“Some of them are interested in nickel mining, gold mining, technology, and automotive,” Shan Shan said during her visit in North Morowali’s booth. She added, “There are (investors) who want to enter the smelter mining of around 20 trillion. One investor from Taiwan. Thus, we want to discuss it with the Regent as well,” concluded Shan Shan.

In addition to the mining sectors, Shan Shan revealed that there are MSMEs who are interested in taking products from her association members, one of which is packaging for export.
