Muara Bengkal Hospital is a type D that requires five specialist doctors, namely internal medicine specialists, pediatricians, surgeons, and obstetricians, together with one anesthesiologist.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — East Kutai Government held a coordination meeting for the operational preparation of Muara Bengkal Hospital Type D which is planned to operate in October 2023. The meeting took place in the Arau Room, Secretariat Office of the Government of East Kutai Regency, Bukit Pelangi Sangatta (05/31).
According to the Head of the East Kutai Health Department, dr. Bahrani, the construction of Muara Bengkal Hospital building reached 100% in January 2023. Currently, the hospital is preparing operational needs, one of which is specialist doctors.
“It turns out that the preparation takes time, particularly regarding medical personnel. From the standard type D hospital, there are at least 141 workers that we have to prepare. The results we took from all over the Health Center (Puskesmas), only 23 people. To fulfill this workforce, the role of the BKPSDM (Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency) is needed,” said Bahrani.
Apart from that, the meeting also discussed the budget including supporting facilities such as electricity and water sources. Bahrani said that his party had written to PLN to grant the addition of 60 megawatts of power.
Regarding the water source, he voiced, “The PU (Public Works) Department will carry out a pipe connection of about 6 km from the source to the hospital. For now, we are working with PDAM which supplies tankers. Surely it is not optimal. It would be better if it could flow itself from the source.”
Another preparation is the addition of 2 hectares of land for parking areas as well as official residences for doctors and other medical staff. With an existing area of 2 hectares, the total land area will be 4 hectares.
During the meeting, the government also discussed hospital licensing. According to Bahrani, obtaining a permit requires conditions that must be met, one of which is adequate medical personnel. He said, “If there is no manpower, the permit cannot be issued. In addition, there are supporting permits that have not been obtained. But it can be (replaced) with a statement for the time being. If the permit has been issued, it can be accompanied by a statement that it will complete the unfinished permits, including building permits and others.”
Further, type D hospitals require at least a minimum of four basic medical specialists, namely internal medicine specialists, pediatricians, surgeons, and obstetricians, together with one anesthesiologist.
