LazzieChat is accessible in English and devoted to Lazada‘s users in Singapore and the Philippines, while users in Indonesia can access this chatbot in Indonesian and English.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — Lazada Group has established LazzieChat, an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based e-commerce chatbot, to deliver a peculiar shopping experience for users in Southeast Asia. With the support of ChatGPT OpenAI in the Azure OpenAI service, the LazzieChat feature can respond to numerous equations related to shopping activity from users on the Lazada platform.
The Chief Technology Officer of Lazada Group, Howard Wang, admitted, “Lazada becomes the first e-commerce company in Southeast Asia to integrate ChatGPT in Azure OpenAI Service into Chatbot. This launch is part of our investment in technology to build a high-quality digital ecosystem to support long-term growth. We intend to bridge the gap between offline and online shopping by providing a quality experience and more value for brands and merchants, leveraging this new technology to reach a wider audience,”
LazzieChat is particularly useful for fast-moving (FMGC) product categories, such as fashion and beauty. Brands and sellers on the Lazada platform can also use this technology to increase product visibility. The LazzieChat technology can understand and respond to questions in a natural way, as well as suggest relevant products to users. In addition, this technology can also search product descriptions and provide product links on this e-commerce platform directly in the chat console to obtain shopping information more quickly.
“By combining the scale and power of Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service with the reach of Lazada users, this collaboration will transform the shopping journey for customers, sellers, and brands at Lazada. We are excited to support Lazada in welcoming a new era of retail innovation with Microsoft Cloud. By adopting artificial intelligence, Lazada will provide personalized recommendations, improve customer experience, assist customers faster, and transform the buying experience in APAC.” said CTO of Microsoft in Asia Pacific, Diomedes Kastanis.
Users in Singapore and the Philippines can access LazzieChat using English. As for users in Indonesia, this chatbot feature will be available in Indonesian and English. With the challenges accompanying the language learning process on chatbots, Lazada will continue to optimize the LazzieChat algorithm to respond to questions appropriately and responsibly while still referring to Lazada’s trust and safety policies.
