Heaptalk, Jakarta — One year of global pandemic Covid19 is leaving impingement for the Indonesian macroeconomy. According to the Minister of Finance, it records minus 5.97% and minus 2.21% for consecutively the last two quarters in 2020. This decline has resulted from several factors, including the slumping in the manufacturing sector, tourism, hotels, restaurants, transportation, and the communications sector.

Bali Province is the most affected region. Regularly, this province contributes to national economic growth as one year before they are projected to attain 100 Trillion Rupiah per year from the tourism and services sector. Today, they have experienced collapse and are now trying to recover. According to Bali Governer, I Wayan Kostoer, this province experience contraction that point minus 12.21% for last quarter, and year-on-year by 12.28%.

Therefore, the Himpunan Pengusaha Nahdliyin (HPN) decided to hold a business forum on Bali as well as to stimulate the Balinese economy to come back. The event is taking place in Renaissance Resort Uluwatu, 26 – 28 March 2020, and attended by all the Nahdliyin entrepreneurs from all around the country, spread across 25 cities and 150 districts throughout Indonesia. They also provide the live stream that is available on hpngodigital.com, so that people outside the venue can have access to the event virtually.

“Why we held in Bali? Because this province is the most affected from the last one-year pandemic. Regularly they can contribute at least 2 Trillion per month, and now it is paralyzed. And as concrete evidence showed by HPN, we want to set a kick-off for Balis’ economy through this event. Assuming that every entrepreneur spends 5 Million, and the total attendee is 430, how big the zest is,” said Chairman of the Himpunan Pengusaha Nahdliyin (HPN) H Abdul Kholik.

In addition, the HPN Go Digital business forum is also said to be the right momentum for HPN members from scaling up their knowledge of doing business digitally and also building a mutual partnership with the digital company.  “So our members do not know limited that the digital industry is only related to the applications, but it is still extensive, consisting of from the end-to-end. Where it includes the infrastructure, data centers, networks, telecommunications, and also digital brand activation,” Said H Abdul Kholik.

H Abdul Kholik also emphasizes that by the presence of sponsorship parties and community supports, HPN can build a solid collaboration to handle things intersecting with digital things. It can be Smart City projects, IT infrastructure procurement, and digital enablement, where they will be the agents of change to their society.

As for the parties registered as sponsors, including Huawei, the world’s leading digital communications company. DesktopIP, Indonesia’s original software developer. Badan Layanan Umum (BLU) Kominfo Services prepares infra in Indonesia, Muslimapp, the native Indonesian software from NU, and the Link Net specialized in the tv cable area of practice. APJATEL the Associations in charge of telecommunications service companies and APJII that is related to ICT technology.

“So please interact and build potential partnering with them and build something impactful,” Said H Abdul Kholik.

The following key significant concern lies in how the micro-business can refurbish instead of collapse. They are not adapting well due to the situation where it hinders the business from being profitable during the pandemic.

At this matter, transforming the digital business model is a necessity. However, some small business players think that it is going too costly. The big company has to allocate a big funds to open a new office or branch in certain areas and hire a lot of human resources and procurement to support the operations. However, this paradigm should be overhauled that actually, in the digital era, we don’t need to have considerable assets to compete.

“We can utilize the existing platform and technology provided by tech companies outside there, while some of them have presented today during this business forum. So you can be banding together, collaborate, stimulate a new business idea with innovation at the most effective cost. No need to invest hugely. Otherwise, we can build a new opportunity,” said H Abdul Kholik.

On the other hand, this business forum also allows recovering the national economy. It is important because if each agent of change can enable everyone to become digitally literate, a dynamic business ecosystem will be created.
