Climate-tech startup Jejakin lands USD2.7 million in funds

Jejakin supports over 30 clients across diverse sectors, such as Gojek, BCA, Telkomsel, and Indosat Ooredo Hutchison, backing businesses reduce their emissions and optimize their sustainability plans.

Heaptalk, Jakarta — Indonesia-based climate tech startup Jejakin, which focuses on a carbon management platform, has secured new funding of US$2.7 million. Notable corporates, including PT ITM Bhinneka Power and SEA’s venture capital firms, Indogen Capital, SMDV, and East Ventures, joined this investment.

“We are pleased to receive support from such a renowned consortium of investors, one of them is East Ventures. We are confident it will drive us forward in our mission to enhance environmental conditions by expediting climate actions with technology,” CEO and Founder of Jejakin, Arfan Arlanda, said.

This startup will allocate the funds to numerous major operation areas, including research and development, technological improvement, and market growth.

According to the President Director of PT ITM Bhinneka Power, Niwat Boonyad, this strategic move is part of the company’s aspirations to support the government’s target for ENDC and encourage more people’s involvement in efforts to create a more sustainable world.

“With progressive technological development and a stronger commitment to sustainability, I am sure Jejakin will continue to achieve greater success and growth in the future,” Niwat added.

Jejakin’s efforts to gear climate issues

Founded in 2018 by Arfan Arlanda, Sudiono Salim, Andreas Djingga, and Haris Iskandar, Jejakin aims to empower businesses and individuals to positively impact the environment. The Co-Founders believe that collective contributions from companies and individuals are critical to overcoming climate change.

This climate-tech startup offers AI and IoT-based solutions that help companies achieve their zero-emission targets. The integrated Jejakin platform allows companies to carry out emission calculations from operational activities, facilitating to determine, execute, and report their sustainability plans, including nature-based and carbon-related projects to help companies reduce their emissions.

The company provides three main products, including:

  1. CarbonIQ is a carbon accounting platform that assists businesses in calculating their operational emission footprint for all scopes (Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3).
  2. CarbonAtlas is the monitoring platform that utilizes a remote sensing technology stack of satellites, IoT sensors, and mobile apps to verify the credibility of climate programs engaged by businesses through on-ground checks.
  3. CarbonSPace, as its integrated app to CarbonIQ and CarbonAtlas to allow businesses and their stakeholders to directly contribute to climate actions.

Currently, Jejakin supports over 30 clients across diverse sectors, such as Gojek, BCA, Telkomsel, and Indosat Ooredo Hutchison, backing businesses reduce their emissions and optimize their sustainability plans. In its journey, Jejakin startup has achieved several milestones, the lates being certified as a B Corporation, as the most renowned sustainability certification worldwide in October 2023.
