To provide flexibility to content creators, Mocaas delivered multiple publishing features as well as monetization in rupiah and US dollars.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — The robust development of digital sector leads to the incredible increase in content creator industry. In Indonesia, Famous Allstars revealed that the market value of this industry in 2022 reached Rp4 trillion to Rp7 trillion, approximately US$260 million to US$456 million (US$1 equals Rp15,348). The value, even, is expected to increase fivefold by 2027.
Considering the magnitude of this opportunity, Mocaas (PT Mocaas Pakar Teknologi) presents an integrated video streaming platform for content creators that prioritizes creativity in delivering a better audience experience.
“We see that the core layer of the creator economy is creativity, how to generate creative and quality content. Meanwhile, creativity is rooted within each creator, hence it shouldn’t be controlled by the platform,” said COO Mocaas Tresna Apriansyah.
Mocaas, which stands for motion creativity as a service, provides a one-stop service for the creator’s needs which includes comprehensive publishing and monetization features. Publishing features cover video management, video upload, and instant video website creation without coding.
Tresna explained that in the early stages, his party developed Mocaas as an over-the-top (OTT) builder to allow creators and their community to create their own video streaming service swiftly and easily. They can create and have full control over their own video streaming platform, including brands, logos, URLs or domain addresses, and application interfaces.
Content monetization in rupiah and US dollars
For monetization, creators can sell content in rupiah and US dollars through bank transfers and e-wallet payment methods. Tresna added, “We don’t think this approach has been taken by other players since access to integration with an Indonesian payment gateway also requires having a business license in Indonesia.”
Further, creators can control their own pricing and business model as all viewer traffic will flow to their platform, not to Mocaas. This flexibility allows creators to no longer rely on existing platform algorithms.
He added, “Creators are accustomed to user-generated content platforms with algorithms that may change from time to time. Thus, subconsciously they cannot be independent in creating creative and quality content as they have to be dictated by the algorithm.”
Mocaas is built with infrastructure in the form of end-to-end platform technology supported by cloud virtualization from its holding company, PT DesktopIP. “Further, we plan to be able to present technology and business models ranging from web3 to metaverse, where everything is focused on helping and supporting creators, especially Indonesian creators,” concluded Tresna.
