Snap presented Augmented Reality Enterprise Services (ARES) to retail businesses that are incorporated into retailers’ apps and websites creating immersive and personalized customer experiences.
Heaptalk, Jakarta — The parent company of Snapchat’s photo-messaging app, Snap Inc., revealed a new service targeting business consumers (B2B), namely Augmented Reality Enterprise Services (ARES).
ARES is presented to help enterprises embed AR technology into their channels and operate them easily and at scale. This feature combines real-world photos and videos with computerized images, creating immersive and personalized experiences with consumers’ favorite brands.
In more detail, ARES’ first line of services is named Shopping Suite which will provide 3D Viewer, AR Try-On, and Fit Finder. The Shopping Suite is incorporated directly into retailers’ apps and websites.
Over the last two years, Snap acquired Vertebrae, Fit Analytics, and Forma, which later became the basis for developing AR services. Currently, the company claimed over 250 million people engage with its AR every day on average.
Initially, Snap presented ARES to retail businesses, spanning Goodr, Princess Polly, and Gobi Cashmere. These three companies have been using multiple AR services that ARES offered, spanning Fit Finder and AR Try-On, with more than 300 customers trying the new experience.
“Over the last decade, we have been hard at work bringing fun and personal AR experiences to Snapchatters. In the next decade, we are excited to take our world-class AR technology to businesses’ websites, apps, and even into their physical locations,” said the Head of AR Enterprise Services of Snap Inc., Jill Popelka.
Through Snapchat’s AR technology, the company witnessed the evolution of augmented reality from mere entertainment and self-expression to a necessity for consumers and businesses. Nevertheless, brands must build engagement with their customers beyond Snapchat and across platforms, including through their own apps and websites.
Further, Snap believed that augmented reality represents a technology shift that will significantly impact businesses across nearly every industry. Companies and brands that leverage an appropriate AR strategy will pay off well in the years to come.
“We look forward to making the shopping experience more delightful for consumers and transforming businesses around the world with AR Enterprise Services,” concluded Jill.
