Heaptalk, Jakarta — IDCloudHost, a cloud infrastructure service provider in Indonesia, has been successfully bagged US$ 5 million funding from Init 6, an investment company founded by Ex Bukalapak Founder Achmad Zaky, that is now roled as the Founding Partner of the investment group.
The fresh funds will be allotted to strengthen technology, human resources (HR) and escalating the cloud market, especially the MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) market in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. It is also considered a new chapter for IDCloudHost to foster the business strategy to optimize the digital industry’s fast growth.
IDCloudHost Founder and CEO Alfian Pamungkas Sakawiguna said that this funding was a momentum for the company to reach a broader market in Asia. Strengthening technology and human resources will remain the main focus of IDCloudHost in executing the company’s business plan.
“We are jubilant that we have built a trust with Init 6 to support our vision and mission to be the best cloud service provider in South East Asia. The experience, expertise, and dedication by our friends at Init 6 will greatly help us to be more competitive and effective in producing various innovative cloud products that meet market needs,” he said. Alfian, quoted from his official statement on Wednesday (23/3/2021).
Alfian is also optimistic that the company he founded in Bandung in 2015 will achieve a new milestone to bring in 1 million subscribers within the next two years. Currently, IDCloudHost has 100,000 active customers, where specifically they are corporations, MSMEs, startups, and individual developers.
“Our focus is to help millions of MSMEs and individual talents around the world to build their businesses with affordable digital infrastructure. We are also delighted to see that thousands of MSMEs in Indonesia who use IDCloudHost services can reach a broader market so that their businesses can continue to grow, “he explained.
Init 6 founding partner Achmad Zaky said that IDCloudHost has succeeded in maintaining the momentum of its business growth in a sustainable manner. “We chose IDCloudHost because we saw that the energy and ability of this team to innovate and execute its strategy was extraordinary. We hope that they will further strengthen the startup ecosystem and bring more creative ideas to develop digitally,” said Zaky.
The current challenge is that Indonesia’s cloud computing market is still dominated by external players such as Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Alibaba. Although positioning themselves more on the virtual backbone, these incumbent players are several small slices that are also advancing into the end-user market. It is quite an exciting objective, whether IDCloudHost can take the challenge where they set a target to acquire the market from incumbent players? Cannot wait to see how the game is running then.
