Heaptalk, Jakarta — Pradita University launched smart parking and smart glass at Tangerang Digifest 2024, held at the Tangerang City Square from August 22nd to 23rd, 2024.
Pradita University’s IT student 2022, Julian Yang, introduced one of the showcased innovations: Smart Parking with the Implementation of Object Detection AI. This technological innovation utilized sensors to simplify vehicle parking.
“This innovation implements IoT and AI in parking areas. Like in malls, where lights indicate parking availability with red and green indicators, we have also developed an application that displays available parking slots on mobile phones,” he explained.
A camera using AI Yolov5 was also created and trained with a custom dataset to help AI recognize when a vehicle is parked correctly or incorrectly.
“Available parking spaces become insufficient due to vehicles being parked improperly, not aligned with the designated lines, which disrupts others who need parking,” Julian added.
Moreover, Pradita University also showcased Glavacy, an intelligent glass for privacy. Manda Aprikasari, a 2022 Information Systems student, explained that Glavacy works by detecting the presence of individuals in a room.
“The glass automatically becomes opaque when someone is present. Additionally, it can be controlled remotely. For instance, if you are in a bathroom and want the sensor to activate, making the glass opaque, there is a button connected to Google Assistant,” she explained.
This innovation was inspired by one of the rooms at Pradita University, specifically the discussion room, which is entirely made of glass”.
“This innovation was developed to protect privacy while preventing external distractions,” “anda concluded.
